Manufacturers Improve Cyber Bill

Earlier this summer, the OMA worked with member companies to craft improvements to Senate Bill 220 which establishes legal standards when electronic data breaches occur. The bill was signed by the governor over the summer and will become effective on November 2.

The OMA is pleased to offer to members this summary and analysis of the legislation.

The OMA recognizes and thanks Lewis Dolezal and Ann Aquillo of ScottsMiracleGro for their significant contributions and thought leadership to this legislation on behalf of all manufacturers. Lewis, an in-house counsel at the Marysville-based lawn care manufacturing giant, presented at the June meeting of the OMA government affairs committee and emphasized that “there are a lot of legal-tech issues on the horizon in Ohio, and manufacturers need to be aware and have a voice on those issues.” 8/23/2018
