Mask Mandates Return to Columbus, Cleveland

With Ohio’s new COVID-19 cases averaging more than 6,000 a day, both Columbus and Dayton have re-imposed masking requirements.

Dayton’s new ordinance requires face coverings for anyone 6 or older while in indoor spaces that are open to the public, according to the Dayton Daily News.

Columbus’ ordinance, which also requires masks for indoor spaces accessible to the public, applies to individuals 4 or older. See the summary from OMA General Counsel Bricker and Eckler.

Multiple smaller communities are also requiring the use of masks once again. In Cuyahoga County, officials have announced a mask advisory. 9/16/2021
