Ohio Senate President Wants U.S Supreme Court to Decide Redistricting Dispute

Ohio Senate President Matt Huffman (R-Lima) wants the dispute over the state’s redrawn, 15-district congressional map to be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court.

On Aug. 17, Huffman told The Columbus Dispatch (subscription) that the Supreme Court of Ohio had overstepped its authority when it voted 4-3 last month to invalidate — for a second time — Ohio’s congressional map.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Bob Cupp (R-Lima) issued a memo to fellow GOP lawmakers blaming “out-of-state activists” for spreading false information regarding the deadline for a new map. 8/18/2022
