In September, Ohio Led U.S. in New Manufacturing Jobs

Ohio created the most net new manufacturing jobs in September, adding 8,700 workers. That’s more than three times the growth in second-place Pennsylvania, according to Chad Moutray, chief economist for the National Association of Manufacturers.

From September 2021 to September 2022, the Buckeye State added more than 23,000 manufacturing positions — the fifth-largest gain among all states. Ohio now has more than 690,000 manufacturing jobs. 10/24/2022
