  • Ohio’s continued unemployment claims have nearly doubled since Thanksgiving with 60,722 claims last week.

FTC Moves to Ban Non-Compete Agreements

The Federal Trade Commission has proposed a rule banning provisions in employment agreements that prevent employees and independent contractors, for a period of time, from working for a competitor or starting a competing business. Study Blames Government Benefits for Labor Shortage

January 6, 2023

There are still at least 3 million fewer Americans working now than in 2019. According to a recent study by a free-market think tank, a key factor for this shortage appears to be taxpayer-funded unemployment benefits combined with federal health care subsidies.

This table lists the estimated work-related earnings that two adults with two dependent children would need to match available unemployment benefits and ObamaCare subsidies in each state, as calculated by the study’s authors. In Ohio, the annual figure is $66,506. 1/5/2023
