OMA Board Member Pushes Back on OSHA’s Walkaround Rule

OMA Board Director, Angela Phillips of Phillips Tubes Group provided public testimony to the federal Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) in opposition to OSHA’s proposed Walkaround Rule, which would allow union organizers and non-expert third parties to accompany OSHA agents during routine inspections.

In her comments, Phillips cites major concerns regarding risks to company operations, labor relations, and employee safety, while emphasizing the rule’s potential political motives, exposure of trade secrets, and violations of state property laws.
