Update: This week, AEP-Ohio sought to preserve what it calls the “status quo” capacity pricing by filing a motion for extension of the interim relief granted by the PUCO until the PUCO issues its final order in this proceeding. However, rather than the status quo of the RPM price for the first tier (or 21% of shopping customers”) AEP-Ohio requested $146/MW-Day for the first tier. AEP-Ohio argued that an extension will: 1) prevent it from experiencing a highly detrimental financial impact that can be avoided; and, 2) avoid customer uncertainty and confusion, as well as avoid prejudging its decision on the merits.Currently, the Commission’s March 7 Entry set AEP-Ohio’s interim capacity pricing effective until May 31, 2012. The OMA filed a response opposing AEP-Ohio’s request on May 4, 2012.
