Update: The third week of the hearing is underway and several intervening parties have testified and been cross-examined, predominantly by AEP-Ohio. The OMAEG has cross-examined a number of intervenors who have proposed modifications intended to shift costs onto other customer classes. For example, the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel (“OCC”) witness proposed to allocate the cost of the Retail Stability Rider (“RSR”), or AEP-Ohio’s “make whole” rider, to customer classes on the basis of shopping percentages to date. If the PUCO adopts that recommendation, 92% would go to industrial and commercial custors while only 8% would go to residential customers. We are helping prepare the OMAEG witnesses who are scheduled to testify on June 5th and June 7th. We will continue to provide updates as the hearing approaches its last week.
