Update: As previously provided, on September 9, 2013, Republic Steel (“Republic”) filed an application requesting the PUCO to approve a unique arrangement with Ohio Edison Company (“FirstEnergy”) in order to expand its production facility in Lorain, Ohio, including the installation and operation of an Electric Arc Furnace (“EAF”).

This week, the OMAEG intervened in this proceeding in order to reserve our rights to adopt a position once we have had an opportunity to analyze customer impacts.  The attorney examiner has not yet issued a procedural schedule in the case, but that should likely occur soon.  We will continue to monitor the case docket and will provide updates accordingly.
