Update: AEP-Ohio continued its battle over recovery of storm rider costs this week, filing a reply memorandum to the memoranda filed by the OCC and PUCO Staff. The controversy involves the amount and method for recovering carrying charges (cost of capital) associated with the storm costs expended in 2012. Costs being challenged by opposing parties range between $2.4 million and $8 million which, while not insignificant, will have a miniscule impact on manufacturers in comparison to AEP-Ohio’s initial request. Counsel will continue to monitor the case on behalf of the OMAEG, but does not anticipate further involvement.
