Update: The evidentiary hearing on FirstEnergy’s electric security plan (ESP) application and stipulations continued this week, with FirstEnergy witnesses testifying on future energy, capacity, fuel, and carbon prices, as well as the models used by FirstEnergy and FirstEnergy Solutions to project the value proposition associated with the PPA proposal and Rider RRS. Next week, among other issues, witnesses will testify on the financial need of the plants at issue and the return on equity sought by FirstEnergy in its ESP.
