Update: On October 11, 2013, OCC filed a motion to intervene stating that it has an interest in the proceeding because the initiation of Phase 2 of the gridSMART project will increase the rates of residential customers. Specifically, the OCC asserted that the project will cost nearly $250 million over the next five years, $155 million of which will be charged to residential customers. OCC further projected that the project will cost each residential AEP customer $121.92 over its duration. Counsel will provide recommendations and seek input from the OMAEG regarding participating in this matter.
