Update: OMA Energy Group and the Office of the Ohio Consumer’s Counsel (OCC) intervened and filed comments questioning the level of discount that Globe is asking other customers to fund for its Beverly Plant. OMA Energy Group asserted that there appears to be a disparity between the benefits Globe would receive and the commitments it would be required to undertake. To ensure a proper alignment of benefits and burdens, OMA Energy Group argued that the PUCO should apply a principle of proportionality in evaluating Globe’s request. OMA Energy Group also requested that the PUCO account for the frequency, duration, and cost impacts associated with Globe’s prior reasonable arrangements. OCC echoes these concerns, noting that Globe is a repeat applicant for customer-funded subsidies. Parties are awaiting direction from the PUCO to establish next steps in the case.
