Update:  The hearing got off to a slow start on Thursday, May 17, 2012, with Robert Powers, AEP’s vice president and chief operating officer, serving as the first witness on the stand. Mr. Powers was unresponsive to numerous questions throughout the day and as a result, the pace of the hearing was behind schedule. Accordingly, the attorney examiners plan to continue each hearing date late into the evening in order to remain on track with the current witness schedule.
