Update: OMA Energy Group, Kroger, the Office of the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel and others asked the PUCO to immediately order AEP to stop charging customers for costs associated with the Rate Stability Rider (RSR). The Supreme Court of Ohio recently reversed a PUCO decision authorizing AEP to collect RSR costs from customers because it allowed AEP to collect the equivalent of transition revenue. The remaining balance to be collected from customers is estimated to be around $310 million. To prevent further unlawful recovery, the parties urged the PUCO to immediately implement the Court’s directive.
