Update: OMA Energy Group, Dynegy, the Office of the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel, the Sierra Club and many others representing a diverse array of interests filed testimony in opposition to FirstEnergy’s modified Rider RRS proposal. OMA Energy Group witness Thomas Lause characterized the modified Rider RRS proposal as a corporate bailout and explained that it will have the same negative impact on customers as the original Rider RRS proposal. He further explained that the corporate bailout requested by FirstEnergy will make businesses less competitive in the global economy and will thwart their ability to take advantage of low market prices offered by competitive suppliers.
Parties have requested to take the deposition of FirstEnergy’s lead witness that is supporting the modified Rider RRS proposal. Discovery in the case is ongoing.
