Update: Recall that the OMAEG filed reply comments regarding the PUCO’s proposed net metering rules. Net metering enables non-utility energy generators to send excess generated power to the grid in exchange for banked energy credits. On July 10, 2013, the PUCO issued an entry requesting interested parties to file supplemental comments regarding Staff’s proposed additional amendments to rules. Specifically, the PUCO seeks comment on the issue of whether the advanced metering opt-out provisions should apply to commercial and residential customers, or only residential customers. Supplemental comments are due by August 6, 2013, with reply comments due by August 16, 2013. OMAEG Counsel is working with John Seryak from Go Sustainable Energy in order to consider and understand the practical impact of the Staff’s proposal.
