Update: OMAEG Counsel participated in the first workshop held on July 9, 2013 at the PUCO. The morning session heard discussion from marketers on how the PUCO can create consistency in operation support across the state regarding customer bills and priority of payments between suppliers and utilities. During the afternoon session PUCO Staff discussed making their Apples to Apples comparison, a tool that allows customers to compare pricing of various utilities, more useful.
It is unclear at this time what the PUCO intends to achieve through these workshops. Nonetheless, Counsel will attend the next Workshop scheduled for July 30, 2013 at the PUCO where the topic of “Barriers to Competitive Retail Market, Do They Exist” is scheduled for discussion.
