Update: On July 6, 2015, Duke conducted depositions of OMA witness John Seryak and OCC witness Wilson Gonzalez in preparation for the evidentiary hearing.
The evidentiary hearing took place on July 7, 2014. OMA witness Seryak, as well as Duke witness Duff, OCC witness Gonzales, Ohio Energy Group witness Baron, and Staff witness Scheck offered testimony at the hearing. OMA witness Seryak’s testimony advocated that the Commission should not adopt Duke’s current shared savings incentive mechanism for use in 2016 for the following reasons: (1) the savings that have resulted from Duke’s energy efficiency and demand response programs over 2013 and 2014 have been extremely costly to achieve; and (2) the shared savings mechanism that is currently in place has not encouraged Duke to exceed its benchmarks in years 2013 and 2014.
