Update: Pursuant to the Supreme Court of Ohio’s (Court) decision to lift the stay on Duke’s collection of Rider MGP costs from customers, on January 14, 2015, the Commission authorized Duke to file final tariffs to reinstate Rider MGP rates. Rider MGP collects costs associated with the environmental remediation of former manufactured gas plant sites located on Duke’s properties. Although the Court lifted the stay and the Commission permitted Duke to reinstate Rider MGP rates, the Commission’s decision authorizing Duke to recover of the costs of environmental remediation at former manufactured gas sites on Duke’s property through Rider MGP is still on appeal at the Supreme Court of Ohio.
