Update: This week, the PUCO adopted and approved the Settlement in its entirety that was filed on December 21, 2016, resolving numerous cases, including cases that were appealed to the Supreme Court of Ohio and remanded to the PUCO for reconsideration. Due to OMAEG’s involvement, some OMAEG members can expect to receive a credit on their bills by April 9, 2017 intended to offset and avoid rate increases that occurred under revisions to the Retail Stability Rider (RSR). Other OMAEG members will see a rate reduction due the revisions of the RSR. OMAEG members and other customers will also receive a credit on their bills by April 9, 2017 to refund $20.3M for the Significantly Excessive Earnings Test (SEET) from 2014. Further, customers in the Ohio Power rate zone will receive a $2/MWh reduction in their PIRR rate. At this time, however, it is not known whether the newly effective rates and credits will be implemented on a bills-rendered or services-rendered basis. The new rates may become effective as soon as early March.

Lastly, OMAEG also negotiated the early implementation of and participation in a limited Basic Transmission Cost Rider (BTCR) Pilot Program agreed to in AEP’s purchase power agreement rider case. Five customer accounts for OMAEG members who will benefit from the program will be included.
