Update: Briefs were filed this week by opponents and proponents of the power purchase agreement (PPA) request and settlement. OMA Energy Group’s brief explained that the PUCO’s approval would saddle distribution customers with the generation costs of a fleet of aging and uneconomic generating units, thereby damaging economic development and harming Ohio manufacturers. The brief also relied on the testimony of OMA Energy Group witnesses Hill and Seryak to show how the plan will shift costs to other customers, raise customers’ bills, and interfere with the growth and development of the competitive markets. The last round of briefing concludes next week.
