Update: Parties filed their reply briefs on AEP’s PPA request and settlement. OMA Energy Group argued, among other things, that AEP exaggerated the transparency of the settlement process and relied on stale data in predicting the cost impacts associated with the PPA Rider. OMA Energy Group also asserted that the IRP tariff and credit provisions were anticompetitive and too costly. With the briefing stage complete, parties now await the PUCO’s decision.
AEP is now sponsoring ads of its own in response to the critical statements recently aired by the Alliance for Energy Choice. AEP touts its proposal as a way to save customers’ money and deliver cleaner energy. Letters from concerned customers opposed to the deal continue to pour into the PUCO’s docket.
