Update: In December 2016, OMAEG and several other intervening parties reached a settlement to implement AEP’s comprehensive EE/PDR program portfolio, effective from 2017 through 2020, which contained a cost cap of $110M for the plan. In January 2017, the PUCO issued its decision approving the settlement to which it noted the importance of an annual cost cap and that it will be reluctant to approve stipulations in other EE/PDR program portfolio cases which do not include a similar cost cap. Certain environmental intervenors applied for rehearing requesting that the PUCO remove the portions of its decision where it commented on an annual cost cap in other cases. The PUCO denied their request.
