OMA Advocacy Delivers Clarity in Ohio Air Standards

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has formally asked the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to remove Ohio’s “Air Nuisance Rule” from the state’s federally approved clean‑air plan. Required under House Bill 96, the move would end federal enforceability of the rule while keeping it fully enforceable at the state level.

The Ohio Manufacturers’ Association (OMA) played a central role in shaping the bill, working with lawmakers and regulators to ensure manufacturers’ concerns were addressed. By engaging throughout the legislative process, rulemaking and public‑comment period, the OMA helped secure a practical, predictable approach that better reflects real‑world manufacturing operations. 11/19/2025
