Employers must reimagine the workplace, rethink their employee benefits, and reconsider their recruitment strategies to stay competitive, according to experts who participated in a recent workforce discussion hosted by OMA Connections Partner RSM. Key recommendations included:
- Employers consider offering on-site day care, or be more willing to offer part-time employment options, particularly for working mothers.
- For younger workers, employers may consider expanding benefits to address student loan debt.
- Job descriptions should be concise and to the point, especially those posted electronically.
The Manufacturing Institute says more than half of respondents to a recent survey indicated a need for more flexibility in work schedules. 2/22/2022
