EPA Administrator Zeldin Announces Rollback of Onerous Power Plant Regulations

06/20/2025

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin recently announced the repeal of the “Clean Power Plan 2.0,” which had imposed strict emission requirements on coal- and gas-fired power plants. This policy impeded progress on new competitive natural gas power plants, reduced production, and discouraged investment in new generation.

The OMA has previously supported efforts from Congressman Troy Balderson that would overturn the Clean Power Plan 2.0. 6/17/2025
