04/26/2024

The third quarterly meeting of the Steering Committee for the Ohio Auto & Advanced Mobility (A&AM) Workforce Strategy convened recently in at Honda in Marysville. Committee members from the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association and OMA-Endorsed Industry Sector Partnerships (ISPs) met with partners from the Office of Workforce Transformation, state agencies, and educational institutions to report on the A&AM workforce strategy’s ongoing progress. The launch of the Ohio Manufacturing Competency Model, including its white paper and use case toolkits, were among key successes highlighted. Additionally, 145 educators participated in train-the-trainer sessions on curriculum assessments and have begun to complete and submit assessments of their manufacturing curriculum. The competency model and these assessments will continue to guide the creation of regional training maps and action plans, enhancing training initiatives for Ohio’s manufacturing workforce. The OMA will soon launch a portal for additional manufacturers to submit endorsements for the Ohio Manufacturing Competency Model.
