Ohio’s Initial Unemployment Claims Up 16% Last Week

Ohioans filed 49,974 first-time applications for unemployment compensation last week, up about 16% compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, there were 262,999 continued jobless claims filed last week, down from 265,467 the week prior.

Ohio has sent more than $8 billion in unemployment compensation payments to more than 908,000 workers over the last 45 weeks. 1/28/2021
