Despite Improvement in Ohio’s Unemployment, 3,700 Manufacturing Jobs Were Lost in July

Last week, it was announced that Ohio’s unemployment rate improved to 8.9% in July, down from a revised 11% in June. Ohio’s non-agricultural employment increased by 62,700, but manufacturing lost 3,700 jobs.

From July 2019 to July 2020, Ohio has lost 48,200 manufacturing jobs when factoring losses in both durable goods (-44,700) and non-durable goods (-3,500). 8/24/2020
