Workers who wish to further their skills-based education can be frustrated when they aren’t credited for what they already know. That’s why Industry-Recognized Credential Transfer Assurance Guides (ITAGs) are part of an Ohio initiative to ensure students can earn college credit for their industry-recognized certifications and their time in the workforce. ITAGS had previously existed for electrical engineering technology and mechanical engineering technology. Now, according to the Ohio Department of Higher Education, welding has been added to the list.
