Solar Legislation Raises Concerns

Conversations around energy policy have continued during the summer, even as state lawmakers are in recess. One topic of discussion is a community solar program, proposed by House Bill 197.

A new memo by RunnerStone, the OMA’s energy engineering team, raises concerns that a credit mechanism in HB 197 would shift approximately $60 million per year in costs to non-participating ratepayers.
