Feds File for Forfeiture of $6.4M Linked to Householder

In the ongoing story of Ohio’s House Bill 6 scandal, the U.S. Department of Justice this week filed for the forfeiture of $6.47 million held in two accounts belonging to Partners for Progress, a non-profit controlled by former FirstEnergy executives and lobbyists.

According to reports, the accounts were used to pay millions to Generation Now, the dark money group controlled by former Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in the corruption scheme.

Meanwhile, as part of its restructuring efforts, FirstEnergy announced it has hired two new senior executives, both of whom spent decades with affiliates of AEP. 11/28/2023
