Update:  On May 29, 2013, the PUCO issued its Finding and Order granting the motions to intervene filed by OMAEG and other intervenors, and approving AEP-Ohio’s 2013 DIR plan with the following conditions:

  1.     Provide Staff with quarterly status reports regarding the overall implementation of the plan including each capital program included in the plan.
  2.     Inform Staff regarding ongoing program-specific construction activities so that Staff may perform field inspections.
  3.     Quantify actual reliability improvements achieved for any program expected to reduce outages.

The Commission also directed AEP-Ohio to work with Staff to develop its 2014 DIR plan.  The plan must include the Company’s plans for replacing its aging infrastructure including the cost of the expected reliability improvements along with the assurance that double recovery does not occur.  Finally the 2014 DIR plan should address how AEP-Ohio intends to ensure that its DIR expenditures are sufficient “to result in improved reliability performance across the Company’s entire service territory.”
