Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. this week outlined his plan to phase out certain artificial food dyes from U.S. food production by next year.
At a news conference with Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary, the pair said the agencies are looking to revoke authorization for two synthetic food colorings and will work with the food industry to eliminate six synthetic dyes used in products like cereal, ice cream, yogurt, and other snack foods. 4/22/2025
