Attorney General Dave Yost has certified a petition for a proposed statute to legalize the recreational use of marijuana in Ohio. The Ballot Board will now decide if the proposal contains a single law. If it does, supporters can begin collecting the 132,887 valid signatures needed to place the issue before the General Assembly. If the issue goes to the legislature and lawmakers fail to approve the plan within four months, supporters have the option of collecting another 132,887 valid signatures to put the issue before Ohio voters. 8/23/2021
