| Ohio’s aerospace and defense industries offer significant opportunities for manufacturing growth, but breaking into federal contracting and navigating complex requirements can be difficult. The Ohio Manufacturers’ Association (OMA) is launching its first Aerospace and Defense Policy Council to help manufacturers win new business, strengthen supply chains and expand Ohio’s role in the nation’s defense industrial base.
The inaugural meeting will take place Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at OMA’s Columbus offices. Attendees will learn how to pursue Department of Defense contracts, meet cybersecurity certification requirements, protect intellectual property, structure teaming agreements and manage the financial demands of government contracting. The meeting will also connect manufacturers with experts who can help turn defense opportunities into new business. “Ohio has the manufacturing expertise and industrial capacity to play an even greater role in supporting our national defense,” said James Lee, managing director of public policy services at OMA. “We want to help more Ohio manufacturers get a foot in the door, understand what it takes to compete and secure contracts that support long-term growth. This council will also give them a stronger voice in the policies shaping defense production and investment.” Chaired by Eric Jenkusky, CEO of T.J. Clark International, the council will bring manufacturers together to identify industry challenges, develop business relationships and advance policies that support Ohio’s aerospace and defense supply chains. The meeting is open exclusively to manufacturers. Register here. 10/16/2026 |
