Ohio Minimum Wage Increase Effective January 1, 2017

Effective January 1, 2017, the Ohio minimum wage will increase by 5 cents, from $8.10 per hour to $8.15 per hour. Ohio employers with annual gross receipts of more than $299,000 (previously $297,000) must pay the Ohio minimum wage.  (Ohio employers with annual gross receipts of $299,000 or less must pay the federal minimum wage, which is currently $7.25 per hour.) Ohio’s minimum wage is tied to the rate of inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index.
