BWC, OSHA Leaders Brief Ohio Manufacturers

Ohio manufacturers heard directly from two of the state’s top workplace safety and workers’ compensation officials this week as the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association (OMA) hosted its Safety & Workers’ Compensation Committee meeting.

Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Administrator Stephanie McCloud discussed BWC priorities and programs, including the agency’s $1 billion dividend back to Ohio employers. Jeffrey Bobo, area director for OSHA’s Columbus office, gave manufacturers a look at current enforcement priorities, regulatory developments and workplace safety issues.

“Ohio employers have benefited tremendously from BWC’s strong financial position and continued focus on workplace safety,” said Jacob Sargent, OMA director of public policy services. “A $1 billion dividend is significant, but just as important is having manufacturers at the table with BWC and OSHA to hear directly where policy and enforcement are headed.”

Members also received updates on workers’ compensation trends, legal developments and Statehouse activity affecting their operations. Staying engaged through OMA gives manufacturers a direct line to the agencies shaping workplace policy and helps members better anticipate regulatory, safety and cost issues before they affect operations. 9/17/2026
