In May, Ohio’s unemployment situation varied significantly throughout the state’s 88 counties. According to the monthly map from the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, six counties saw jobless rates of 16.1% or higher, compared to May’s statewide average of 13.7%. Meanwhile, the job search engine at OhioMeansJobs.com currently has more than 120,000 jobs posted by employers statewide. Roughly half of these jobs pay more than $50,000 a year, and about 76,000 of them require less than a bachelor’s degree. 6/23/2020
