At a Glance: Where the COVID-19 Hotspots Are

While the CDC says more than 95% of U.S. counties are experiencing “high” or “substantial” levels of COVID-19 transmission, southern states — which generally have lower vaccination rates — are seeing an outsized share of cases relative to their populations. The New York Times has published this map showing COVID-19 hotspots nationwide. The Mayo Clinic also offers a map showing which states are experiencing the highest rate of spread.

Meanwhile, OSHA has not updated its COVID-19 guidance for all industries, including manufacturing, since Aug. 13. But the CDC has advised unvaccinated Americans to stay home during the Labor Day weekend. 9/1/2021
