Ohio Manufacturers Capture National Limelight During COVID-19 Vaccine Debates

As policymakers at both the federal and state levels attempt to impose their will on private employers’ COVID-19 policies, Ohio manufacturers are in the national spotlight for their visible role in the debate.

As previously reported, OMA member Phillips Manufacturing & Tower Company has partnered with the Buckeye Institute, a conservative think tank, in a lawsuit challenging the legality of OSHA’s emergency temporary standard (ETS). Phillips’ CEO Angela Phillips has penned this editorial at Real Clear Policy to explain her company’s rationale its legal action.

Meanwhile, an AP article published nationwide features a photo of Ross McGregor, president of OMA member Pentaflex Inc., as he testified at the Statehouse last month on behalf of the OMA against an Ohio House bill that would ban employers’ ability to require the vaccine. McGregor, a former Ohio lawmaker, told ABC News last week the federal ETS also concerns him because of its potential impact on the labor supply. 11/11/2021
