Yost to Referendum Petition Blockers: ‘Knock it Off’

This week, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost sent a stern warning to those interfering with the proposed referendum to repeal House Bill 6, the nuclear bailout law. This comes after reports that signature gatherers have encountered aggressive “petition blockers” attempting to deter voters from signing. The state’s chief law enforcement official said bluntly: “It’s time to knock it off.” Yost noted that he has the authority to investigate criminal elections violations, as well as press charges if a county prosecutor declines to do so. 9/30/2019
