Governor Asks Participation in In-Demand Jobs Survey

August 17, 2018

One of Governor Kasich’s top priorities is to grow Ohio’s economy by developing a skilled and productive workforce and connecting Ohio employers with qualified workers. Technology and automation continue to evolve at an unprecedented pace, making it important for state government to stay up-to-date with Ohio’s workforce needs.

To help align Ohio’s workforce to the needs of business, Governor Kasich is distributing Ohio’s biennial In-Demand Jobs Survey beginning August 27. The survey requests Ohio employers to forecast their top hiring needs for the next one, three and five years. The results of the survey help create Ohio’s In-Demand Jobs List, which guides Ohio’s workforce training priorities and helps better align education and training to the current and future needs of business.

Employer responses are critical to maintain an accurate In-Demand Jobs List and if you receive the survey, the governor requests and appreciates your participation in this important effort. 8/10/2018

  • 35% of students enrolled in CTE courses say that have no contact with potential future employers, with only 12% experiencing site visits, 20% having pathway-related summer jobs and 13% having pathway-related after-school jobs.
