U.S. EPA Launches the Hazardous Waste Electronic Manifest (e-Manifest) System

From Ohio EPA: “U.S. EPA has established a national system for tracking hazardous waste shipments electronically. This system, known as e-Manifest, modernizes the nation’s cradle-to-grave hazardous waste tracking process while saving valuable time, resources and money for industry and states. Generators, transporters and receiving facilities have the option of using electronic manifests. Receiving facilities must submit manifests to U.S. EPA and pay a user fee for each manifest submitted. The final user fees for the e-Manifest system are effective from June 30, 2018, through Sept. 30, 2019. Generators and transporters are not required to use e-Manifest but are strongly encouraged to work with their receiving facilities to see how they will be impacted by the new system.
